EU Youth Zone – Testimonials
We asked young people, participants of the project “EU Youth Zone” to share their impressions and thoughts on the topics like EU values, Euroscepticism and their overall experience as part of the team of the project. Here is what they had to say:
- I have been part of many discussions about Euroscepticism but always felt like I had more to learn about it. The most important part was to know more about the relationship between the EU and its member states, and also the negotiation processes with candidate countries. Also, I had the opportunity to meet great new people from other countries and different cultures which made the experience even more fun and attractive.
(Ildi Hyka, Albania; Debater)

- I think that this topic should be well known in every country in Europe for the younger generations to recognize the benefits of being part of the European Union.
(Argi Kullolli, Albania; Debater)
- A lot of young people don’t realize that their voice can matter. There isn’t much media that promotes how young people can help change big organizations like the EU for the better. But the best part is that the youth can create their own future in the EU and help this organization to adapt to their needs. I believe that the final debate was a cherry on top of this amazing experience. This project created an opportunity to meet new people, and to learn new facts about the EU and how we can be part of it.
(Auguste, Lithuania; Debater)

- The most interesting part for me was debate competitions and of course to try the mobile application and check how good my knowledge about the EU is. The main message from me would be to be active, always improve your knowledge about the EU and its main important topics and value the opportunities which you get by living in the European Union.
(Nojus, Lithuania; Debater)
- I’ve often witnessed Euroscepticism in my environment and in my community but taking part in this project really expanded my horizons and made me understand how important it is to go beyond it. As young European citizens we should be more aware about the potential of being part of the EU and we should also be willing to be more involved in its social and political decisions so that we can improve it.
(Eva, Italy; Debater)
- In a social and political environment where EU values, such as democracy, union, intercultural communication and exchange, human dignity, are jeopardize, considering the importance of the existence of European Union is essential. For me the best part of the project was the opportunity to listening to the ideas of young people who would like to be part of the European Union helped me to realize that being part of it should not be taken for granted. The new generation has the potential to strengthen EU values and to make them more concrete. Taking part in projects like these is certainly a way to make this more likely to happen.
(Arianna, Italy; participant of the training)

- I found the topic of the project interesting because nowadays young people, myself included, know not enough about European Union and its values. Euroscepticism is a reality that we face every day. More and more people are losing their trust in the European Union because they are not fully aware of what it means for a country to be part of it.
(Marilisa, Italy; Debater)
